MANUALS

  • General care

Congratulations on your UNIMATIC® watch. It is a precision timepiece manufactured to the highest quality standards, and we hope that it will provide you many years of optimal use. Before making any adjustments, please check our video manual. Your UNIMATIC® watch is unique and individually numbered. Every single reference is Made in Italy. Your watch model reference and serial number are engraved on the case back of the watch. We strongly recommend you purchase genuine UNIMATIC® products and services safely from our many authorized official online and retail stockists. You can consult our stockists list here:

    www.unimaticwatches.com/stockists

Unique ID seal ensures 100% genuine provenience and entitles to 24 months warranty.

    WATER RESISTANCE:

UNIMATIC® watches are designed and singularly tested to provide the maximum performances. Before using any watch in water, make sure the crown is screwed in completely and tightly. Do not operate the crown underwater, the same applies to pushers of the Modello Tre chronograph. If used in sea water, rinse the watch in fresh water and dry it completely. Please refer to your model details to check the water resistance specifications.

    TEMPERATURE RANGE

Your watch works with stable accuracy in a temperature range of 5°C and 35°C (41°F and 95°F). Do not leave your watch in very low temperatures below -10°C or +14°F for a long period of time since the cold may cause a slight time loss or gain. However, accuracy will be restored once the watch returns at normal temperature.

    SHOCKS & VIBRATIONS:

General light activities will not affect your watch, but be careful not to drop your watch or hit it against hard surfaces, as this may cause damage or scratches to the metal surface.

    CHEMICALS

Be careful not to expose the watch to solvents, mercury, cosmetic sprays, detergents, adhesives or paints, as the case, bracelet, etc. may become discolored or damaged.

    MAGNETISM

Avoid contact with magnets, or putting your watch on top of loudspeakers, refrigerators or magnetic cases for tablets or other electrical devices since such objects generate magnetic fields which could disturb the functions of your watch. Our watches are tested up to 4,800 A/m (approx. 60 gauss).

    PROTECTIVE FILM

If your watch has a protective film and/or a sticker on the case back, make sure to peel them off before using your watch. Otherwise, perspiration getting under them may rust the case back.

    MOVEMENT ACCURACY

If your watch loses or gains a few seconds per day, you can correct it without an expert aid. The rate of a watch varies slightly depending upon its position. Take it off at night and place it as follows:

To gain a few seconds: Lay the watch flat with the dial uppermost.

To lose a few seconds: Lay the watch vertically with the crown downwards.

To lose more seconds: Lay the watch vertically with the crown uppermost.

    CARE OF CASE AND BRACELET:

To prevent possible rusting of the case and bracelet caused by dust, moisture and perspiration, wipe them periodically with a soft dry cloth. For deep cleaning use a toothbrush with soapy water and dry with a soft cloth.

    LEATHER STRAPS:

UNIMATIC® recommends that you follow the steps below in order to preserve the condition of your leather strap:

    – avoid contact with water and dampness to prevent discoloration and deformation;

    – avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to prevent fading;

    – do not forget that leather is permeable. Avoid contact with greasy substances and cosmetic products.

    SERVICE:

Like any precision instrument, a watch needs regular servicing to ensure that it functions perfectly. We cannot indicate the exact optimal frequency of such work, as it depends entirely on the model, the climate and the owner’s individual care of the watch. However, as a general rule, a watch should be serviced every 4 to 5 years, depending on the conditions in which it is used.

    SCREW DOWN CROWN:

All of our watches are fitted with a screw-down crown which must be unscrewed to alter the date and time. After use, push the crown into position 1 then press and screw the crown back down, failure to screw the crown down will compromise water-resistance.

3 – Seconds hand will stop, turn clockwise for time setting

Synchronise the seconds by pushing the crown back to position 2 to coincide with a given time signal.

HOW TO USE THE CASEBACK SCALE:

You can use the caseback scale to convert measures in miles, meters, yards, feet, inches.
The values on the connecting lines between units are the numbers of time the smaller unit fits into the larger one. Units are displayed in counter-clockwise order from large to small.

    [ MI > M > YD > FT > IN ]

With the caseback scale you can convert any measure simply multiplying or dividing the distance by the number shown between the units.

HOW TO USE THE AIR TO GROUND EMERGENCY CODE SIGNALS CASEBACK:

AIR TO GROUND EMERGENCY CODE SIGNALS

In case of distress, describe the ground to air emergency signal codes on the ground so that the search aircraft or rescue party can easily recognise them. Each letter should be at least 10 m? in size with its top and bottom facing the directions of south and north, respectively. When describing the code on a field of snow, dig a ditch or pile up snow in the form of the letter so that it can be discerned by the shade. If the victim is weakened and does not have enough physical strength to describe the codes on the ground, use clothes or equipments to form the letters. Grass, branches of trees or stones can also serve this purpose.
In rescue operations, the rescue aircraft uses a loudspeaker or a communication tube to send messages to the victim, but it is difficult for the victim to respond to the rescuer. The ground to air emergency signal codes will facilitate communication between them and help rescue operations progress smoothly.

  • UBK BRACELET

The UNIMATIC UBK U solid brushed stainless steel bracelet is compatible with both Modello Uno and Modello Due references.

We strongly advice you to seek out professional assistance from your local watch workshop in any instalments or size adjustment operations of the bracelet since special equipment would be needed. The screws of the links have a thread-locker on the threads to prevent them from unwanted unscrewing. In order to loosen them your local jeweller should warm/heat the bracelet to loosen the thread-locker in that way the screws should come out without any problem. Once done with fitting the bracelet thread-locker should be used to secure the screws and prevent them getting loose due to friction.

By any means don’t try to force the screws, this could lead to permanent damage.

UNIMATIC does not take any responsibility and is not liable for any damage caused using this product.

Below a chart to help you choose the correct product variation for the end links matching your watch.
